USERA Selected To Manage 25th Anniversary Spec Racer Ford Celebration Event

November 12, 2009

Richard Weihl at Lime Rock Park 2010 marks the 25th anniversary for the most successful spec race car offered in North America. The SCCA Enterprises Spec Racer Ford! The Spec Racer Ford, or SRF, started life as the Spec Racer Renault in 1985 and shows no signs of decline as it reaches its 25th year in 2010. To date over 850 Spec Racers have been sold by Enterprises, and the class continues to be one of the most successful national championship club racing classes in North America.

SCCA Enterprises has selected USERA to provide marketing and race event operations for their 25th Anniversary Celebration event which will be held on April 10-11, 2010 at world renowned Road Atlanta in Winder, Georgia, home of the first National Championship races for Spec Racers back in 1985.

The weekend will provide double races for all of the Enterprises products, including Pro Spec Racer Ford, Pro Formula Enterprises, club Spec Racer Ford and a catch-all group for the original Spec Racer Renault, re-engined Spec Racer cars, Shelby Can-Am and new Sports Racer bodied cars.

"We are very excited to be working with Enterprises on this very special anniversary event," said Ken Grammer, President of USERA. "USERA has managed successful Spec Racer and Formula Enterprises races, including our Challenge series this past fall at Lime Rock Park. Enterprises drivers are simply the best bunch of drivers and we are very excited to be assisting Enterprises as they celebrate 25 years of racing history."

The weekend will include many VIPs from Enterprises past, including past Enterprises and SCCA staff that were instrumental in the development of the spec racer, original test and championship winning drivers, and a wide showcase of past and present cars.

"We only get one shot at this historic occasion and it is our chance to celebrate and reward our customers with a great event experience. We are very familiar with Ken Grammer and know that he can provide us with an absolute turn key package that will exceed our expectations," said Erik Skirmants, President and CEO of SCCA Enterprises Inc. "The original Sports Renault and now Spec Racer Ford is truly something to celebrate and there are many individuals who we will be thanking for being part of this great products amazing journey. It also makes sense to use this event to launch the rebirth of the SRF Pro Series and the inaugural Formula Enterprises (FE) Pro Series."

The event will offer double races for four groups of SCCA Enterprises cars as follows:
  • Group 1 - SCCA Pro Spec Racer Ford
  • Group 2 - SCCA Pro Formula Enterprises
  • Group 3 - USERA Spec Racer Challenge
  • Group 4 - All Others (Sports Renault, FE Sports Racers, Shelby Can-Am, re-engined Spec Racers
